Neurofeedback

When you’ve tried everything else…

“So, your brain can get ‘dysregulated’?”

Things are going too fast or too slow…

Yep, that’s me. There’s no in-between here!

You mean my brain is dysregulated? If it is, that actually makes sense of my experience.

Now, I don’t feel so bad.

1917941000The Goldilocks goal.

Clients often share that they feel their brain is broken, doesn’t work well enough, or is “always on.”

They share having difficulty regulating, such as “becoming so angry it scared them, unable to focus, trouble with stopping worry, struggle with decreasing high emotions, or just when it is time to go to bed, their brain decided to ramp everything up.”

The result is poor focus at school or work, irritability with family and friends, and often very poor sleep because their brain won’t let them fall asleep.

And let’s face it, without really good sleep, most people wake up irritable. And that’s their baseline for the day. Whew! That’s a struggle all by itself.

Neurofeedback can help with regulation. Like Goldilocks, the brain can work too much, too little, or just right. Training can adjust the functioning up or down so the clients learn their “just right.”

“So, I don’t have to talk about ‘it’?”

Whew. That’s a relief.

I just sit still? Just be?

And I’ll get better? Finally?

And you’ll help me if I can’t sit still?

Actually, I have no idea how to “just be.” Will you help me with that, too?

In session, you will learn what your brain does without thinking about it. You will see the difference in your brain waves when you get angry and clench your jaw compared to when you are physically relaxed. Immediate feedback helps you learn to do more of the “just right” stuff. As your brain becomes less stuck, it can do things more efficiently.

Like a car stuck in the mud, a single tire can spin faster and faster without going anywhere. This uses a lot of energy with little to no results. In this way, we are looking for a different solution. With the tire, we might put something underneath to gain traction. Similarly, we want your brain to get unstuck. We want it to be more efficient. It is just easier.

And the best thing? You don’t have to “do something.”

Most people want to do something about it. With neurofeedback, we often want to get out of our own way. Since it is brain-based, we want to sit, watch, and just be. We want to see what the brain is doing.
We observe and listen to the feedback from the training.

The feedback will let you know if there was too little focus, too much anxiety or worry, too much fidgety behavior, or not enough attention. The result is useful information to make adjustments, teach techniques, and train again. Together, we learn what works best for your unique brain.

Brain Waves On Laptop“So, what happens when my brain gets ‘regulated’?”

It’s hard for me to imagine what that looks like.

I could go through a day with less anxiety?

Less fear?

Less… all the things?

This is your chance to get more of the good stuff!

Neurofeedback can make you feel happier and more successful.

That might not seem possible right now, but trust me… it is.
