Military Personnel and Their Families

2241074759“Yes, I know I need help. But…”

I’m in the military. I’m supposed to be strong. You know… mission ready.

I mean, if my spouse or kids needed anything, I’m all for it. Of course, I would support them.

And I would totally recommend counseling for my military personnel. I know it’s helpful, so I encourage them to get that extra support.

“But not for me.”

I’m a leader. I train others.

And if I reach out for help, they’ll think I’m weak—that I’m less than. I can’t have that.

Besides, I don’t have time.

Plus, won’t getting help stop me from getting promoted? Won’t my command find out? I’m up for promotion.

I can’t get help now. Maybe later… when I retire.

My family’s good. They’re solid. They understand the military. Everyone pitches in and gets things done.

And most of my deployments were fine. I mean, it is what it is.

But I will say that when I got back, nothing was the same.

I’ve always managed, but this time… it feels different.

Maybe I could talk about some stuff…

1476496376Yes, you can (and should) talk about it.

We will work on what you want to address.

We can incorporate talk therapy, art therapy, neurofeedback, or a combination to be most effective.

Since there won’t be worries about command involvement, focused effort may be a bit easier. The areas that are working in your life remain fabulous. We will focus on one or more.

As you navigate toward your goal, we’ll work together to get to the root cause of the problematic areas.

You don’t have to go through this alone.
